Job Description
The Trustee for Bay Cafe Trust About the Role This is a hands-on position suited to a chef who can confidently manage kitchen operations, maintain high standards and contribute to menu development while working across a varied, high-volume service.
Key Responsibilities Plan and coordinate kitchen operations, ensuring efficient service and consistent delivery of high-quality dishes Design, update and cost menu offerings, including seasonal and customer-focused variations Oversee food preparation processes to maintain consistency in taste, portioning and presentation Manage workflow during peak service periods, ensuring smooth coordination across all kitchen activities Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and control food costs to minimise wastage and maintain profitability Ensure compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and workplace health requirements Supervise, train and support kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and operational readiness of kitchen and storage areas What We’re Looking For Minimum Certificate IV and Diploma of Hospitality Management or other equivalent successor qualification Minimum 1-2 years of experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen Strong understanding of kitchen operations, stock control, and food safety practices Ability to manage pressure and maintain consistency during high-volume service A proactive, reliable, and hands-on approach Strong organisational and leadership skills About Company
