Are you a professional and personable medical receptionist seeking a fulfilling part-time role in a supportive and caring general practice?
The Surgery is looking for a motivated individual to join our team and help deliver exceptional care to our valued patients.
About the Role
This is apermanent part-timeposition of 2 days per week suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced medical environment.
Reporting to the Office Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring smooth front desk operations and supporting clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
Welcoming patients and handling phone enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner
Scheduling appointments and managing patient bookings
Processing accounts, bulk billing, and issuing invoices/receipts
Updating and maintaining accurate patient records
Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, scanning, filing, and results handling
Supporting doctors and nurses with administrative tasks
Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring a professional, tidy reception environment
Participating in team meetings and training sessions
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role (preferred)
Familiarity with medical software systems (e.g., Best Practice or Medical Director) is advantageous — training can be provided
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, team-oriented mindset
Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently
A patient-centred approach with a friendly and professional attitude
