The Opportunity:
Hall Contracting is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to provide strategic commercial support across our marine infrastructure projects. This role is focused on early-stage claims support, contract administration, cost control, and variation management, helping project teams deliver profitable outcomes.
You will be supporting a portfolio primarily in the Pacific Islands, including maintenance dredging, land reclamation, and construction of jetties and community infrastructure. The role is office-based with minimal travel, providing international project exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver strategic commercial guidance to project teams, proactively managing risks and opportunities.
* Administer project contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements.
* Prepare and manage claims and variations in line with contractual obligations and company policy.
* Monitor project budgets, costs, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
* Conduct cost analysis, risk assessments, and commercial evaluations for proposed changes or disputes.
* Maintain detailed records of claims, variations, and correspondence with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
* Liaise with legal teams as required to support dispute resolution.
* Support tender and bidding activities, including cost estimates, pricing strategies, and commercial documentation.
* Use P6 for project planning and Candy for cost estimation and commercial analysis.
Key Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience in commercial strategy, early-stage claims support, contract administration, and cost control.
* Strong knowledge of AS4000/AS4902, FIDIC, or equivalent construction contracts.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and commercial management software (e.g., CostX, Aconex, Procore).
* Proficiency in P6 and Candy is advantageous
* Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
* High attention to detail, with ability to work independently and across multiple projects.
