Primary objective
Provide communications and media support, including administrative advice to the Department of Logistics and Infrastructure to
effectively promote projects and initiatives.
Context statement
As part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team this role provides best practice communications and media support for a broad range
of internal and external communications activities. The candidate should have experience using modern communication channels,
including digital marketing channels and social media.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage a broad range of internal and external communication projects and provide support to the department's Media Manager
with proactive media planning and media processes.
2. Provide best practice communications and media advice to managers and colleagues across the department to promote and
support initiatives, utilising methodologies including media, social media, advertising, publications, exhibitions, events, and
electronic communications.
1. Build and maintain strong, effective professional relationships both within and across agencies, government and the private
sector, to improve communication outcomes for the department.
1. Provide social media account management and maintenance and advice where required.
2. Lead the management and maintenance of the department intranet content.
3. Lead the development and roll-out of internal communications including staff bulletins and development, content creation and
design of the CE newsletter.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience working within a media, marketing, and communication environment.
2. Proven ability to work with clients to effectively manage the delivery of communications collateral and supporting materials.
3. Organisational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting workloads, while maintaining attention to
detail.
4. Oral and written communication skills to be able to effectively write and proof a range of documents and communications
materials tailored to diverse audiences and platforms.
5. Demonstrated sound judgement in evidenced based decision making and problem solving, with the ability to think laterally.
6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Desirable
1. Relevant qualifications in marketing, communications or similar.
2. Experience in programs such as: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro.
