About the work unit / facility The Revenue Control team within Financial Accounting supports accurate invoicing and patient revenue processes for Townsville University Hospital. The unit provides essential financial services that ensure compliance with Queensland Health requirements while supporting high-quality healthcare delivery. Competitive salary and benefits * Salary between $2950.00 - $3280.70 per fortnight (AO3). * 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading. * Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%. About your opportunity As the Inpatient Billing Officer, you will play an important role in delivering accurate patient billing and ensuring timely revenue capture. You will coordinate billing processes, complete end-of-month activities, prepare correspondence, maintain data quality, and provide expert advice on Queensland Health billing systems and policies. Requirements * Possession of a qualification relevant to business, administration and specifically accounting is desirable but not mandatory. * Demonstrated knowledge in health service delivery is desirable but not mandatory. * Highly regarded: Ability to achieve deadlines, establish work priorities, and organising of daily functions pertinent to the role in an autonomous environment while being able to work as part of a team in order to manage workloads and issues in a rapidly changing environment. * Highly regarded: Strong communication and customer service skills when liaising with patients, staff and external stakeholders. * Highly regarded: Demonstrated skills in accounts receivable functions of a large, complex and multidisciplinary organisation including end of month processes. * Highly regarded: Experience with billing systems, excel spreadsheeting and financial processes, or ability to rapidly acquire these skills. * A probationary period may apply.
