Assistant Accountant
Residential & Commercial Construction
We are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established residential and commercial construction company seeking a detail‑oriented Assistant Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their accounting career within the construction industry.
The Role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant will support the day‑to‑day finance function and contribute to accurate financial reporting across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable
* Processing invoices, supplier payments, and expense claims
* Bank and credit card reconciliations
* Supporting month‑end procedures and reporting
* Assisting with payroll preparation
* Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
* Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers as required
About You:
* Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role
* Experience working in the Construction Industry
* Relevant qualification or currently studying (e.g. Certificate IV, Diploma, or Degree in Accounting)
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
* Confident with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
