Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages distribution networks, transmission pipelines and storage capacity. AGIG recently grew to over 1300 employees. We also manage a large contractor workforce, who provide both specialist and operating and maintenance services on AGIG’s gas distribution networks.

About the Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for an Operations Field Supervisor to join our team in Thomastown, on a permanent fulltime basis.

Reporting to the Manager field Operations VIC, this role is responsible for managing Field staff and resources within a given geographic area ensuring safety, maintenance & construction in accordance with AGIG standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the gas fitting and first response and /or leak repair activities to comply with the regulatory requirements and improve safety performance of employees and contractors.

* Provide effective leadership and management to the Gas fitting team, driving effective communication to manage performance, align individual KPIs to the BU strategy

* Audit employees and contractors for compliance to their contracts, industry and HSE standards and follow up on actions arising from audits

* Provide accurate cost estimates for proposed works and manage Timesheets

* Respond to community issues and concerns proactively, informing the Management team of actions as necessary

About You

* Demonstrated experience in Gas Distribution

* Previous gas-fitting field experience is highly regarded

* Leadership and supervision of small teams or construction crews

* Demonstrated experience in dealing with and effectively negotiating successful outcomes with contractors and other stakeholders

* Construction Site Generic Induction (White Card), required

* Must be prepared to work on a rotating standby roster offering 24 hour / day, 7 day / week support
