Role Description
This is a hands‐on leadership role suited to someone who can hit the ground running, bring structure, and support the offices by managing both operational and financial functions. You'll be trusted to motivate people, sharpen systems, and deliver targets while also rolling up your sleeves to get things done. We want a leader who naturally thinks outside the square, loves lifting performance, and wants to help build revenue‐focused, high‐yielding businesses.
The Musts
* Manage office systems, procedures, and workflows to improve efficiency and accountability
* Oversee the day‐to‐day operations of the legal practice across VIC and QLD and other offices
* Lead review of case management and offer coaching and education to improve performance and meet compliance
* Act as a key point of contact for partners, staff, suppliers, and external service providers
* Manage and complete month‐end close processes for the group
* Manage payroll, leave, and staff entitlements with accuracy and timeliness
* Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS returns, and manage related financial documentation and lodgements
* Complete WorkCover declarations and ensure ongoing compliance
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
* Assist with financial reporting and internal controls
* Liaise with the ATO and relevant authorities as required
* Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date financial records across the group
* Oversee associated creditors and debtors to support strong cashflow and professional relationships
Scaling Objectives
* Motivate and lead staff and executives to improve client experience and overall performance and management of cases
* Identify and assess opportunities to accelerate expansion and profitability across the group of entities

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
* Proven experience in office/operations (legal or professional services strongly preferred)
* Strong financial capability including month‐end close, payroll, reconciliations, internal controls, BAS/IAS, and compliance
* Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* A hands‐on operator who will genuinely roll up their sleeves
* Experience with legal practice management and accounting software (Smokeball & Xero preferred)
* Experience supporting multi‐entity/group operations
* Track record of improving operational efficiency and lifting financial performance
