About the Role
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic (General) to join our growing team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a busy, well-equipped workshop and participate in our 24/7 breakdown service assisting customers across Oakleigh and surrounding suburbs.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle systems using both manual and computer-assisted methods
* Remove, inspect, and repair engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and related components
* Replace worn or defective parts, reassemble components, and perform necessary adjustments using service manuals
* Conduct regular maintenance including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and engine tuning to ensure optimal performance and environmental compliance
* Rebuild and test engines and components after repair to verify functionality and safety
* Carry out on-site emergency repairs and assist stranded motorists across Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs
* Inspect vehicles and, where authorised, determine roadworthiness or detail repairs required to meet standards
Salary: $73,500 – $83,500 per annum
