Job Description This role is responsible for delivering high-quality psychiatric care to individuals in immigration detention, ensuring evidence-based treatment and clinical excellence. This role is ideally 1 to 2 days per week, providing remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations. Join us in bringing a new approach to medical and wellbeing care for detainees by: Conducting psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients with mental health disorders in immigration detention. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including but not limited to medical, nursing, and allied health staff to ensure holistic, recovery orientated and trauma informed care for detainees. Providing clinical advice and support regarding psychiatric conditions and treatment options. Contributing to the continuous improvement of psychiatric services by participating in policy development, education, training, and quality improvement initiatives. Ensuring psychiatric care aligns with clinical governance, regulatory standards, and organisational policies. This position reports to the Clinical Manager, Virtual Care Centre for day-to-day operational requirements, and to the Lead Psychiatrist for matters related to professional practice and peer support.
