This position plays a vital role in enhancing access to mental health services for young people from Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and culturally diverse communities.
* Key responsibilities include:
* BUILDING STRONG RELATIONSHIPS with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, taking into account their cultural background and life circumstances.
* ORGANISING AND ATTENDING EVENTS to promote our service to the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community.
* SUPPORTING THE FACILITATION of clinical and non-clinical group programs, as well as assisting with the engagement of young people.
* HELPING OUR TEAM PROVIDE CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE resources and services to young people.
* REFERENCING YOUNG PEOPLE TO OTHER SERVICES AND SUPPORTS when it is in their best interests to do so and with informed consent.
* ACTIONING MANDATORY MEETINGS AS REQUIRED AND REQUESTED.
Candidates should possess:
* ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE SENSITIVELY AND EFFECTIVELY.
* EXPERIENCE IN IDENTIFYING AND REPORTING CLINICAL RISK ASSESSMENTS.
* QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR WORK HISTORY DEMONSTRATING COMPREHENSIVE KNOWLEDGE.
* CERTIFICATE AND/OR DIPLOMA IN YOUTH WORK, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, MENTAL HEALTH AND/OR OTHER RELATED AREAS.
