The River Murray Mallee Aboriginal Corporation (RMMAC) is proud to offer a unique opportunity for First Nations people to become part of our newly established Indigenous Ranger Program based in Berri, South Australia.

What You'll Be Doing:
Coordination of the Indigenous Ranger Program
Leading Water and natural resource management activities
Planning and delivering work plans informed by cultural and environmental knowledge
Implementing strategies for threatened species protection and evasive species management
Supporting cultural heritage work, including site protection and knowledge sharing
Assisting with visitor management and promoting responsible access to Country
Engaging with youth and Elders through community-based cultural events
Applying best-practice governance and program frameworks
Building strong connections with other Ranger programs across the region

Who We're Looking For:
First Nations people Displays a keen interest in operations management and a proactive approach to achieving outcomes
Possesses the ability or experience to coordinate a team of rangers in the effective management of Waterways and wetlands and the delivery of strategic projects.
Exhibits strong organisational skills and the capacity to handle multiple tasks with precision.
Ability to support and share skills with a diverse group of people
Willingness to work outdoors and learn new skills
4WD licence preferred for this position
Enthusiasm for teamwork, community engagement, and cultural knowledge sharing
Desired Supervision / Management / Leadership / Project Management Certification
Working with Vulnerable People & Working with Children checks required
Work Health and Safety (WHS).
Current South Australian Driver's Licence (Desired 4WD experience and accreditation)
Current First Aid Certificate (including remote First Aid) or willingness to undertake training
Certificate III/IV qualification is required for this role
Certificate III/IV qualification must be in Conservation or Land Management
Acceptable qualifications include Certificate III/IV in either Conservation or Land Management fields
1-2 years professional ranger or land management experience is required
Indigenous land management experience is specifically required
Indigenous land management experience in any form is acceptable including paid employment, volunteer work, or cultural participation
Any amount of indigenous land management experience will be considered
Full Time opportunity – 38 hours/week - Salary will be based on skills, qualifications & experience.
