**Position Summary**
**Stocker** - Stocks and straightens merchandise for sale in the warehouse. Constructs, assembles, and modifies display models. Clears and cleans aisles of empty pallets and debris. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. Follows proper safety procedures and standards.
**Major Sales Assistant** - Sells merchandise in the major appliance, jewellery, and electronics section of the warehouse. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. Answers questions, demonstrates the merchandise, and explains the features. Sets up, cleans, and maintains displays. Stocks and maintains condition of department merchandise. Follows proper safety procedures and standards.
**Forklift Driver** - Moves pallets of merchandise with a stand-up electric forklift/electric pallet jack on the sales floor. Stacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full pallets and wraps in plastic wrap. Ensures that pallets placed in steel meet Costco Standards. Assists with stocking merchandise, clearing the sales floor of debris, and checking signs for accuracy. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. Follows proper safety and security procedures and standards.
**Supervisor** - Assists Area Manager in everyday running of area including managing employees, stocking area, complying with all procedures and managing the floor to the best possible standard. Provides a high level of member service. Answers member questions, demonstrates and sells merchandise to members. Stocks and maintains valuable condition of department product. Oversees major appliance, jewellery, and electronics sections.
**Job Duties/Essential Functions**
**Stocker**:
- Follows merchandising standards and practices
- Communicates with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities
- Writes list of merchandise to be brought from steel, by forklift driver, for stocking
- Aligns merchandise, collects and returns stray items, and stocks to maintain high merchandise levels
- Cuts boxes for display/accessibility of merchandise and cuts twine or shrink-wrap from pallet
- Marks merchandise number on unmarked items
- Stocks opened cases onto shelves
- Moves and positions pallets of merchandise
- Stacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full pallets
- Wraps/ties and tags pallets to be returned to steel
- Checks for correct merchandise signs
- Constructs and assembles display models as necessary
- Modifies displays for safe handling by members (e.g. bolting heavy equipment, taping blade edges)
- Pulls loose cardboard and slip-sheets from floor
- Clears the sales floor of debris and sweeps
- Removes empty pallets from the sales floor and re-wraps loose merchandise
- Operates cardboard baler and trash compactor
- Follows all safety and security procedures
- Spots for Forklift Drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zone
- Follows established inventory prep guidelines prior to physical inventory
- Follows proper Merchandising and general safety procedures and standards
- Helps members to load large items into their cart, directs them to merchandise, and relates merchandise status knowledge
- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers
**Major Sales Assistant**:
- Answers member questions, demonstrates merchandise, and explains features
- Assists members in loading merchandise to cart
- Maintains current knowledge of technology and trends of sales area merchandise
- Communicates with Majors Supervisor regarding quantity, status, price, delivery, and promotion of merchandise
- Follows merchandising standards and practices
- Sets up, cleans, and maintains merchandise displays
- Aligns and faces merchandise to front, collects, returns stray items, and stocks to maintain high merchandise levels
- Reviews lists of items for Forklift Drivers to place in the aisles for stocking
- Participates in merchandise moves
- Checks and approves merchandise for member returns
- Makes and checks accuracy of merchandise signs and marking
- Clears debris from the sales floor and performs security lock-up
- Follows proper Merchandising and general safety procedures and standards
- Spots for Forklift Drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zone
- Assists members in loading merchandise to cart and their vehicles
- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
- Provides and ensures prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers
**Forklift Driver**:
- Completes daily forklift safety checklist
- Hooks batteries up to battery charger
- Assists with creating drop list of merchandise for placement in aisles
- Communicates with floor managers to set priorities and determine merchandise placement
- Moves pallets of merchandise using electric forklift and electric pallet
- Uses/acts as spotter to alert
