Medical Sales Representative Job Description

The role requires consistent achievement of sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs). The successful candidate will develop and execute a business plan that includes strategies for achieving sales targets, protecting existing business, identifying new target areas, and managing key accounts and customers.
Collaboration with the Product Manager/Business Manager is essential to achieve strategic objectives, including conversion of major accounts and growth in existing accounts. Developing knowledge of products and clinical practices is crucial.
Developing strong relationships with all stakeholders in relevant accounts is vital for achieving sales objectives. Educating customers and patients on suitable products and assisting with education as required is also key.
Ensuring deadlines for tenders and pricing contracts are met, in conjunction with the Contracts Manager, is necessary. Maintaining and utilizing a CRM database (Salesforce) to manage contacts and develop business plans for forecasting is also essential.
Regular attendance at seminars and conferences, determined by the Product Manager or Business Manager, is necessary. Submitting all documentation in a timely manner, including monthly expense reports, is also crucial.
About You
* Education: Tertiary qualifications are preferred.
* A proven track record of experience and success within medical device sales or another healthcare sales-related role is necessary.
* OHNS/ENT experience is preferred but not essential. Experience in operating theatre is highly regarded.
* Demonstrated experience in developing customer relationships and providing high levels of customer support is crucial.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
* The ability to learn and communicate clinical/technical information is essential.
* Ability to analyze sales reports and spreadsheets to identify trends and changes is also necessary.
* Strong competence in MS Office applications, mainly Excel and PowerPoint, is required.
* Experience in using Salesforce or other CRM applications is beneficial.
