Correctional centres are responsible for the delivery of custodial services across Queensland. People in custody are supervised in either high or low security correctional centres. High security centres provide for the management of adult prisoners held in secure custody correctional centres across Queensland.To ensure a high level of community safety through the coordination and delivery of approved general and / or sexual offending programs to those offenders assessed as requiring offender intervention programsIn This Role You WillParticipate in planning activities to ensure offenders have timely access to appropriate programs and interventionsAdminister appropriate assessments to offenders and prepare offenders for offender intervention programsEnsure offender program activities are consistent with evidence-based practice and deliver offender intervention programs in accordance with operational plansMonitor progress of offenders during programs and related activities and report on progressComply with program management procedures, standards and guidelinesIdentify and respond appropriately to risks arising from offender assessment and managementMaintain own level of knowledge of contemporary offender programs research and practices, and legislation, policy and procedures in relation to offender managementParticipate in case management activities as required for offenders assessed as requiring program participationProvide timely information to relevant sites in relation to each offender's participation in programs for case managementMonitor offender management files and programs to ensure continuity and consistency, ensuring records and information data for the Integrated Offender Management system (IOMS) and the Offender Programs Assessment Service (OPAS) are accurate and currentEnsure maintenance, accuracy and appropriateness of records and intervention reports for appropriate authoritiesMaintain program data, analyse assessment results and record informationProvide advice to relevant officers regarding offender program suitability and/or other intervention activitiesContribute to case management and sentence management activities for offendersSupport, coach and develop staff to effectively conduct their duties and identify opportunities for supporting colleagues in the effective delivery of programsCompletion of Agency Supervisor and program facilitator trainingProvide supervision in accordance with Accountability Standards and QCS supervision model/approachEnsure the timely provision of program impact reports and advice to courts, parole boards and other agencies regarding offendersPromote value of offender programs through effective collaboration with internal and external professional networksDevelop productive relationships with service providers and the community generally to enhance the community's regard for offender programsEnsure the safety and security of self and others and the security and confidentiality of QCS property and information.Qualifications, Professional Registration, Conditions And Other RequirementsThe possession of a tertiary qualification in preferably in psychology, social work, education or behavioural sciences, however, other Bachelor degrees may be considered at the discretion of the recruitment panel in consultation with Offender Rehabilitation and Management Services.Membership or affiliation with a relevant professional association will be highly regarded.For Program Delivery Officers specialising in the delivery of sexual offending programs you will be provided with training in the use of relevant assessment tools (STATIC-99 and STABLE-2000) to allocate sex offenders to appropriate treatment. This training is a mandatory requirement following appointment to a PDO position.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Occupational group Community Care
