The Board of Management now seeks an outstanding Chief Executive to lead the organisation into its next phase of impact and transformation. This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the state’s most influential agencies at a time of strong population growth, investment, and strategic momentum.
About The Role
Reporting to the Minister for Housing and Urban Development and the Board, the Chief Executive is responsible for the strategic leadership, performance, and direction of Renewal SA.
You will lead a high-performing organisation of ~190 FTE and oversee a significant portfolio of development projects, assets, and initiatives that shape communities across South Australia.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading the strategic vision and delivery of major urban renewal and development programs
* Driving housing, infrastructure, and precinct outcomes aligned to state priorities
* Overseeing property portfolios, investment strategies, and commercial outcomes
* Providing high-level advice to the Government on complex and sensitive urban development matters
* Building strong partnerships across government, industry, and the community
* Ensuring excellence in governance, financial management, and organisational performance
About You
We are seeking a visionary executive with the ability to operate at the intersection of government, industry, and community.
The ideal candidate brings:
* Proven CEO or senior executive experience in complex, large-scale environments
* Deep expertise in property, urban development, infrastructure, or related sectors
* Strong commercial acumen and experience managing significant assets and investment programs
* Demonstrated success leading organisational transformation and high-performing teams
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing capability
* Experience working with Boards, Government, and within complex governance frameworks
* A commitment to values- based leadership, integrity, and public purpose
* Relevant tertiary qualifications, bachelor’s or master’s degree in property, development, construction, planning and/or business administration, or related field are highly desirable.
