Case mix includes:
* Emergency and elective general surgery
* Complex soft tissue infections

* Neuro and vascular surgical emergencies
This is one of the last true broad‐scope general surgical roles in Australia.
The hospital & department
The hospital is a Level 2 Trauma Centre. The General Surgery Department is fully accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) for surgical training and supports:
* Accredited surgical trainees
* Pre‐SET trainees
* Interns and junior medical officers

* Minimum 2 years post‐fellowship experience
* Demonstrated leadership in service development, education, and supervision
Consultant General Surgeon
* Fellowship (or eligibility) with RACS
* Interest in developing skills across a broad surgical scope
Essential for both roles:
* Eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
* Strong interest in Indigenous health and culturally safe practice
* Ability to work effectively in a cross‐cultural environment
* Excellent communication skills
* Commitment to teamwork, teaching, and supervision of junior staff
* Capacity to take on administrative and leadership responsibilities
