The Position
The Site (Warehouse) Financial Controller is responsible for financial reporting and performance management of the site through weekly and monthly P&L reporting. The role also establishes, improves, and monitors financial processes and controls related to the site, supports the Financial Operations team in improving billing processes, and partners with site leadership and FBPs to drive profitability. The incumbent acts as a bridge between operations and finance, proactively preventing issues that impact P&L accuracy and health metrics. This role has responsibility for four sites in Victoria (Derrimut, Melbourne, and Ravenhall) and requires onsite presence three days per week. Internally, the role is known as Site Controller – Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
* Guide the Delivery organisation on proactively managing operational risks, creating and maintaining guardrails to protect the organisation against revenue leakages.
* Monitor and drive actions to ensure the P&L reflects accurate gross profit at the country, entity, product and customer level.
* Review controls related to profitability, identify root causes of control ineffectiveness and drive mitigation plans with business functions.
* Review revenue billed and accrued versus estimated revenue and deep‐dive into any abnormal incidents.
* Review effectiveness of new platform/process roll‐outs, conduct on‐site reviews and provide recommendations to address local gaps.
* Review compliance of customer implementations as per corporate governance, policy and procedure.
What We Are Looking For
* Graduate qualification in accounting, or an equivalent professional qualification such as CA/CPA.
* 2–5 years' experience in a finance analyst role or similar capacity.
* Previous experience working within the logistics industry (warehousing) would be advantageous.
* Expertise with Excel and performance‐management tools (e.g., PowerBI).
* Experience with SAP and automation tools (e.g., PowerQuery) would be advantageous.
* Strong stakeholder‐management skills and attention to detail, as well as ability to bridge the gap between operations and finance.
Preferred candidates will be required to undertake reference checks and pre‐employment screening, including a National Police Check. Where applicable, background checks covering employment and education history may be required.
