Beacon Legal has partnered with a leading global engineering and construction company in the search for a Legal Counsel to join the Brisbane office. This opportunity would suit a lawyer with 5-6 years' experience who is looking to step into a broad and commercially significant role.
We're seeking a commercially minded and proactive front‐end construction lawyer to join a high‐performing and small legal team. This role offers exposure to a broad range of front‐end construction and project development work and the chance to work closely with a business operating in the infrastructure, energy and resources sectors. You'll be part of a well‐regarded in‐house team supporting major, complex projects across Australia and globally.

About the Role
* Lead and support the negotiation and drafting of a broad range of construction and project‐related contracts.
* Advise on legal and commercial risks across major infrastructure and resources projects.
* Support stakeholders across project, procurement and commercial teams.
* Manage external counsel where required.
* Assist with governance and internal compliance processes.
* Contribute to strategic project delivery and business growth initiatives.
What we're looking for
* Admitted to practise in Australia.
* 5-6 years' experience in construction or projects, gained at a top‐tier law firm.
* Strong transactional experience, with exposure to a broad range of construction contracts.
* Experience in the mining sector is advantageous but not essential.
* A mix of transactional and disputes experience will be considered.
* Strong technical, commercial and stakeholder management skills.
* A proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach.
* Excellent communication, drafting and problem‐solving ability.
* Comfortable working in a fast‐paced and evolving environment.
