Equitable Learning and Disability Support (ELDS) Senior Advisor
Location: Dandenong; Salary: $85,670 per annum plus superannuation; 1.0 FTE, full-time, ongoing position.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the design and implementation of holistic student support programs including social groups, peer connection spaces, study support series, and skill‐building workshops to improve student belonging and retention.
* Co‐design and consider student voice when reviewing the Institute's holistic disability support model, integrating wellbeing, academic, social, and accessibility components.
* Support ELDS initiatives including workshops and program design, ensuring alignment with current disability inclusion best practice and technological innovation.
* Act as a specialised subject matter expert in assistive technology, advising on selection, implementation, and training.
* Identify the educational support needs of students with disability, long‐term illness and/or mental health condition, liaise with the student, teaching area, and other relevant parties or agencies to provide case management, determine the level of support appropriate to the educational expectations of the students and the requirements of the course.
* Consult with community members on disability issues and ways to enhance participation by people with disabilities.
* Assist with the development, implementation and review of Chisholm's disability support program, policy, procedures and plans.
* Deliver internal professional development sessions to teaching and professional staff on disability, assistive technologies, inclusive practices and accessible communication.
Qualifications
* Degree or postgraduate qualification in Disability, Social & Human Services or substantive relevant experience.
* Demonstrated expertise in assistive and adaptive technologies, including assessment, training, implementation and evaluation.
* Experience designing and delivering holistic student support programs, including social connection initiatives, study support pathways and proactive engagement activities.
* Proven ability to mentor and develop staff capability in disability inclusion, accessible learning practices and universal design principles.
* Experience as a subject matter expert or senior in a team delivering high‐quality services.
