About the Team Governance, Assurance and Internal Audit performs a crucial role in supporting CHQ to operate ethically and achieve its strategic objectives. The Unit is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and performance of corporate governance and assurance functions (regulatory and corporate compliance, risk management, quality management, internal control and internal audit) as well as providing independent, objective, evidence-based advice and assurance to Executive, Audit and Risk Committee and Board regarding the effectiveness and efficiency of business-critical corporate governance frameworks. About the Role In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include: * Proactively monitor, track, interpret and assess changes to CHQs regulatory and corporate compliance environment to elevate transparency and accountability, optimise decision making and drive organisational maturity. * Provide professional advice and advocacy in the design, implementation and embedment of internal controls to support harmonised, proportionate and efficient attainment of compliance objectives and organisational objectives. * Identify, assess and mitigate legal and business risks arising through movement within CHQs regulatory and corporate compliance environment. * Provide timely counsel and guidance to 1st line of assurance to enable accountable and responsible officers to understand compliance obligations, control design and risk identification.
