The Role
The Hydrometallurgist/Process Engineer role is part of the Technical Services Group and reports to the General Manager – Engineering and Projects. The role will cover the design and management of hydrometallurgical laboratory testwork programs as well as engineering design and flowsheet development.

Responsibilities
* Design and execute hydrometallurgical testwork programs including leaching, precipitation, solvent extraction, crystallisation, ion‐exchange and electrowinning with the completion of required metallurgical laboratory documentation and analysis and reporting of results.
* Assist with the execution of hydrometallurgical pilot programs including pilot plant design and commissioning, completion of operating procedures and daily run sheets and instructions, shift supervision as required and analysis and reporting of results.
* Provide technical guidance on testwork programs to ensure laboratory programs are delivering high quality data and designed to develop flowsheet solutions for our clients.
* Prepare comprehensive metallurgical laboratory information packages, in accordance with Core systems, to enable efficient execution of testwork programs.
* Utilising testwork results and your engineering expertise, develop flowsheet solutions for our clients' projects.
* Provide metallurgical guidance to assist clients to progress their projects through all stages of the project lifecycle.
* Complete scoping, conceptual and pre‐feasibility studies in collaboration with other Core engineers and metallurgists.
* Complete key engineering study deliverables as required.
General
* Undertake the Project Management role or elements of the project management requirements for selected projects as required.
* Complete assigned projects in compliance with client expectations, company objectives, company standards and all contractual documentation.
* Complete Project Proposals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders including defining the project scope, goals, deliverables, schedule and costs.
* From time to time, provide on-site consulting to our clients in due diligence, plant audit or site‐based project services.
Skills & Experience
The successful applicant will have:
* Tertiary qualifications in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy.
* 3‐5 years' experience in metallurgy and engineering design across a range of metals and process units.
* Experience with hydrometallurgical processes is essential.
* Experience with simulation software such as METSIM will be highly regarded.
* Strong ability to work with clients collaboratively to progress the technical goals of their projects.
* Excellent communication and project management skills.
* A very high level of attention to detail, with a strong commitment to ensuring quality in the work completed and reported.
* Proven ability to work as a team player within multifunctional and multidisciplined teams, sharing knowledge and contributing proactively to achieving team goals.
* Working / residency rights in Australia.
