Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Environmental Planning Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that new and existing developments comply with the Hume Planning Scheme and related permits.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and collaboration with other teams to achieve environmental goals.
* Conduct regular site inspections to monitor compliance with environment-related permit conditions and Construction Site Environmental Management Plans (CSEMPs).
* Collaborate with stakeholders to promote high standards of environmental protection through consistent application of planning controls.
* Develop and implement strategies to improve environmental outcomes in areas such as vegetation protection, stormwater management, and soil management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor new and existing developments for compliance with planning schemes and permits.
* Carry out site inspections and meetings to ensure compliance with environment-related conditions.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree or diploma in environmental science, urban planning, or a related field.
* Knowledge and understanding of current environmental issues in Victoria, particularly in relation to vegetation, river and wetland health, geomorphology, and soil management.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
