Salary Package

* Lecturer (Level B): $123,435 (step 1) to $146,044 (step 6) plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
* Appointment Type: Full-time, continuing (part-time considered for the right candidate)
* Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus (North Ryde)

THE ROLE

Macquarie School of Education is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Primary Curriculum and Pedagogy Education to contribute to the development, leadership and delivery of initial teacher education. The focus of the role will be on English and/or Science and the national core content areas: the brain and learning; effective pedagogical practice; behaviour management; and/or responsive teaching.

The role is Teaching and Leadership focused – the successful applicant will contribute to pedagogy, curriculum and learning resource development; undertake teaching and assessment; and engage in leadership and scholarship related to teacher education.

ABOUT YOU

You will be an accredited primary teacher (NSW or equivalent) and have a strong track record and/or current experience of leading curriculum and pedagogy development and delivering excellent contemporary approaches to teaching and learning in primary classrooms. You will be an expert in the relevant primary syllabus, have expertise to contribute to teaching the Strong Beginnings core content areas, and be familiar with the evidence-based teaching and school-based teacher education that frame the current teacher education landscape. You will be an excellent communicator with a proactive nature, flexible, ready and able to work as a member of teams and have excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills.

Selection Criteria for Lecturer (Level B)

* Accredited teacher (NSW or equivalent) and sustained experience of effective teaching in contemporary primary schools.
* Demonstrated expert knowledge of the NSW primary curriculum.
* Demonstrated expertise in areas of the Strong Beginnings core content.
* Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based primary pedagogy along with a commitment and capability to deliver high quality learning and teaching.
* Demonstrated capacity or potential for delivering high quality teaching for teacher education students, including the design, delivery, and management of lectures, tutorials, and assessments and high-quality professional learning for in-service teachers.
* Demonstrated capacity to model how to teach inclusively, recognising intersectional inequities and barriers to learning and responding to the needs of students with diverse identifications, learning needs and from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
* Willingness and ability to contribute to Initial Teacher Education course leadership.
* Track‐record of making positive contributions, or capacity to contribute, to administration in a University or professional setting.
* Adaptability, flexibility, resilience, and team‐work capabilities.
