We're looking for a proactive and experienced Bar Supervisor to lead bar operations across Creative Life Events, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service at the Tanks Arts Centre.
This position is offered on a part-time, temporary contract basis, with a minimum commitment of two (2) days per week, primarily mid-week, in accordance with operational requirements.
In addition to the contracted hours, the role will require reasonable additional hours to support event delivery, including weekend work. Hours of work will vary from week to week.
Suitable candidates will have flexibility to accommodate the variation in hours.
What we're looking for
Essential
* Current Responsible Management of Licences Venues (RMLV) certification (or ability to obtain) and demonstrated hospitality experience
* Strong working knowledge of Work Health and Safety, Duties and Responsibilities and Responsible Service of Alcohol
* Confidence with stock management, supplier liaison and maximising bar profitability
* Ability to troubleshoot POS issues calmly, ideally with experience using Idealpos or similar systems
* Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to supervise, mentor and support staff
* Knowledge of alcohol products, trends and stock turnover strategies
Desirable
* Open C Class licence, Senior First Aid, Approved Manager licence (or ability to obtain), fire warden training and experience with Artifax Event systems
What you'll be doing
* Coordinating efficient bar operations, including daily reconciliations, cash/EFT settlement, stock ordering and audit processes
* Supervising Bar Attendants and providing on‑shift leadership
* Acting as a primary FOH Warden during events and supporting safe evacuation procedures if required
* Implementing liquor licence legislation, venue policies and procedural efficiencies
* Maintaining bar presentation standards and ensuring smooth event‑day operations
* Managing Idealpos functions
* Delivering exceptional customer service and fostering a safe, welcoming environment for patrons, artists and staff
