**About the Opportunity**
An opportunity has become available for a confident and experienced Commercial Manager to join our team in Osborne, SA. We pride ourselves on developing our people and are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who enjoys a challenge and wants to further their skills in this unique defence environment.
This challenging role will be accountable for developing, negotiating and implementation and managing ASC Commercial Agreements along with leading a team of Commercial Advisors and Administrators.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensure all obligations accepted by the ASC are consistent with ASC corporate goals and values and are achievable within the assigned scope and budget with an acceptable level of risk
- Provide briefings as applicable to senior management, prepare, and review internal reports and briefing papers on commercial matters
- Ensure contract registers are developed and maintained
- Manage contract administration tasks to ensure adherence to Program schedule, quality reporting and for future reference
- Develop and maintain relationships with key ASC and if applicable, selected CoA stakeholders, in order to effectively coordinate and manage commercial outcomes
- Communication, strategic focus and organisational coordination are key to ensure consistent and repeatable project performance
- Ensure the customer relationships are professional, achieve mutual benefit, reflect commercial realities and protects ASC's commercial position.
**About you**
- Able to make sense of complex and high quantity information to effectively solve problems
- Able to manage sensitive information and situations with discretion and maturity
- Able to effectively develop and deliver multi-mode communications
- Demonstrable practical knowledge of governance, quality, scheduling, risk, financial, stakeholder and personnel management as applicable to a complex project environment
- Builds and sustains relationships with a network of key people internally and externally
- Acts professionally and impartially at all times and operates within the boundaries of organisational processes and legal and public policy constraints
**Competencies and experiences**
- Tertiary qualifications from an accredited tertiary institution in law, business management or related discipline or equivalent experience in a complex asset management/development environment
- A minimum of 10 years post graduate experience in a commercial, legal or business advisory role
- Significant experience in managing and developing complex contracts including resolution of highly complex issues to achieve a positive commercially focused outcome
- Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating agreements and managing commercial risk
- High quality writing skills, excellent time management and organisation skills, the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with others
- Demonstrable high level verbal and written communication skills
- Autonomous, goal directed and capable of managing multiple priorities with limited direction
- Proficient in both written and verbal communication and possess excellent negotiation and persuasion skills
- Capable of building strong business relationships
