EASTERN HEALTH

About the role

This position is responsible for the registration of referrals, phone enquiries, telehealth support and waitlist audits. Clerical staff support customer service, clerical and reception duties, contributing to optimal patient outcomes and adhering to the code of conduct, policies, and procedures of Eastern Health.

The Acute Specialist Clinics area is a busy department that meets community needs by providing specialist services such as Orthopaedics, Plastics, General Medical, Surgery, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Urology, Respiratory, Liver and Paediatrics. Approximately 160,000 occasions of service are provided annually, including new patient referrals, review appointments, and post‐admission follow‐up.

About you
* Year 10 level English – written and spoken
* Knowledge of patient management systems (iPM, CPF, EMR)
* Computer competency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
* Advanced telephone skills and clerical abilities
* Ability to provide quality customer service in a friendly and professional manner to support high quality patient‐centred care
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Capacity to work as part of a diverse team

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations based on ATAGI advice. Seasonal influenza vaccination is a mandatory requirement for this role; an offer is conditional on vaccination being up to date prior to employment.
