This hugely successful Mining Services company has a requirement for a Purchasing Officer. Situated in their Head office in Perth Eastern suburbs you will also be offered the opportunity to work from home 2 days a week.
Working in a small, collaborative and supporting teams your duties will include:
Procure goods and services at best possible price.
Regularly review and expedite orders, including the follow up of credits, to ensure timely delivery and facilitate timely payment of invoices.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and end-users.
Continuously review suppliers to identify cost savings and ensure the company is procuring the best available value.
Assist and support all users with queries on parts catalogue, purchase orders and procurement system.
Support resolution of purchase order issues, queries and discrepancies.
Ensure that internal warehouse stock holdings are considered before placing orders with suppliers.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience in a similar capacity procurement or administration role.
Positive outlook with an ability to meet strict deadlines and deal with various levels of staff.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Keen attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Solid understanding of Supply Chain functions.
Previous experience with ERP purchasing, inventory and costing systems (SAP is preferred).
Ideally the client is looking for someone to start on a contract basis (at short notice) but may become permanent for the right person.
