Responsibilities
* Performing general maintenance and repairs in the hotel
* Assist the Maintenance Manager in the day-to-day maintenance requirements of the hotel
* Ensure all guest rooms, public areas and service areas are in excellent working order
* Carry out maintenance requirements and follow up as scheduled by the Hotel's Property Management System (PMS)
* Assist in keeping up-to-date records on the repair and maintenance of plant and equipment
* Conduct regular inspections of hotel equipment, machinery and systems to identify potential issues
* Ensure all tasks are performed with urgency and in the safest manner possible
* Assist in managing 3rd party contractors
* Communicate effectively with hotel staff to address urgent maintenance concerns
Qualifications
* Excellent communication skills
* Comfortable in a physical role, have a get‑up‑and‑go attitude with a strong eye for detail
* Self‑motivated, punctual and reliable with a proactive approach to work
* Basic knowledge of general repair work or DIY
* Competent in the use of basic computer programs
* Workplace Health and Safety knowledge
* Ability to accommodate flexibility with shifts including weekends
* Previous handyman / maintenance experience in a hotel or guest service environment preferred
