Kintamani Farms is a family owned broadacre grain farming operation located between Yerecoin and Wongan Hill, approximately 165km from Perth. Operating since 1925, we utilise modern precision agriculture, technology and farming systems. We are seeking a proactive senior farm hand or heavy diesel mechanic to join our team and take ownership of daily operations in our high-productivity, broadacre enterprise. You will lead machinery operations and drive efficiency in a rewarding, long-term role that values skill, leadership and dedication.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate all farm machinery including tractors, headers, spray rigs, spreaders, loaders, balers and trucks
* Carry out sowing, spraying, spreading, harvesting, ground preparation, freight and cartage
* Chemical mixing and application (crop spraying, fertilising, weed and pest control)
* Monitor crop health and paddock performance
* Perform preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on agricultural machinery
* Maintain accurate farm records, including chemical usage, machinery maintenance, crop production plans and actuals
* Follow and promote WHS and environmental compliance
Skills & Experience
* 2 years minimum broadacre cropping experience (grain and hay) – essential
* Proficient in operating heavy machinery
* John Deer auto steer guidance and Operation Centre
* Essential experience with John Deere auto steer guidance systems and Operation Centre is required for this position
* Mechanical aptitude and basic computer/data entry
* Intermediate mechanical repair skills required for machinery maintenance tasks beyond basic maintenance
* Chemical handling certification (ChemCert) or willingness to obtain
* Current driver's licence (HR or MC truck licence highly desirable)
* HR Licence is the minimum driver's licence requirement for this role
* Ability to work independently and within a small team environment
