World Vision Australia's Young Mob program supports First Nations young people to confidently engage with the world while staying deeply connected to culture and community. We're seeking a First Nations Project Manager to lead the successful implementation of the Young Mob project in partnership with First Nations partner organisations and the NSW Department of Education across the Sydney and Hunter Valley region.

This role provides cultural leadership in program delivery and facilitation. It requires deep cultural knowledge and lived experience as a First Nations person to ensure culturally safe facilitation, strong community relationships, and meaningful engagement with young people, families, Elders and partner organisations. Some out‐of‐hours work will be required for camps and extension activities.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Community Engagement

* Lead planning and delivery of Young Mob activities, including culturally safe camps and extension programs.
* Build strong, respectful relationships with Elders, partners, families, schools and community organisations.
* Uphold WVA safeguarding, cultural safety and risk management standards.

Team Leadership

* Lead, support and coach Young Mob facilitators and build a connected, values‐driven team culture.

Monitoring, Reporting & Learning

* Coordinate data collection, reporting and reflection workshops and support curriculum updates to keep content relevant for young people.
* Prepare grant reports and contribute to communications for communities and supporters

Operations & Budget

* Manage project budgets, reforecasting and grant acquittals.

What We're Looking For

Essential

* Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity, cultural knowledge and lived experience.
* Strong understanding of Sydney and Hunter Koori communities and youth experiences.
* Proven experience facilitating programs, camps or group activities with young mob.
* Ability to build trusted, culturally respectful relationships with Elders, families, schools and partners.
* Experience leading staff or managing community‐based projects.
* Clear communicator with a strengths‐based, culturally safe approach to youth work.

Desirable

* Qualifications in community development, youth work, social science or related fields.
* Experience with budgets, grant reporting or partnerships (e.g., DoE, Juvenile Justice).
* Knowledge of positive youth development and trauma‐informed practice.
