REDARC is looking for a full-time permanent experienced talent Manufacturing Engineer for New Product Development to be based in Lonsdale.

Purpose of Job and General duties
You will be responsible for the management of new processes for Assembly, SMT and/or Warehouse area at REDARC.
The role includes the coordination of capital investment and equipment, the use of continuous improvement and Lean principles to ensure the best utilisation of the assets in order to support our growth strategy and reduce manufacturing costs.
Following and improving capacity, lead-time and quality to ensure customer satisfaction, in line with REDARC standards, for the related processes and product cells.
Work closely with the R&D & Production teams to enable design for manufacturing new products and to develop and implement their manufacturing methods.
Lead or participate as needed in the different project activities, including but not limited to feasibility studies for new products, DFMEA, PFMEA, PCP, SPC, R&R study, SWS, balancing, ergonomic review, etc.
Plan and maintain the above documentation related to the process.
Working closely with Engineering, Quality and Production and facilitate strong DFMA practices to ensure new products are efficiently assembled and manufacturing processes/methods are repeatable and reproducible to maintain long term capability & profitability prior to hand over to internal stakeholders (Quality, Production & Operations Engineering).
Prepare safe and efficient processes and lead the preparation of the different builds and related review during the project (prototype, sample, pilot, etc).
Identify any new critical and sensitive assets, processes and testers and contribute to the risk management plan to reduce the risk of significant business interruption (for example and as appropriate: upgrade or duplication of equipment, maintenance and obsolescence, service backup, etc).
Conduct feasibility studies of new processes and establish business case and justification of the new plant and equipment.
Prepare for quote documentation and decision analysis and recommendations for the selection of tenders.
Conduct or review related risk assessment, JSA and related actions to ensure that the equipment, it's installation, use and maintenance are safe and in accordance with Australian standards.
Develop equipment specifications based on planned and future volume and product requirements.
Ensure compliance with REDARC's Quality, Environment and WHS Policies and Procedures.
Applicants with more senior experience are also encouraged to apply, and the role may be tailored to suit the level of experience.
Required
Bachelor Degree or higher in mechanical or electronics engineering (or equivalent field) with at least 2 years' experience or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
Familiar with / Certification on Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with with different stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, including cross-functional teams.
Encompassing comfort with a "hands-on" approach.
Significant practical experience leading change and improvement projects with JIT, Lean, KANBAN, Six Sigma, VA VE, 5S, 8D, TPS etc.
Demonstrated capabilities in providing technical support and analysis of new or proposed products or enhancements.
Good knowledge of MRP / ERP systems.
Automotive manufacturing experience highly regarded.
Knowledge of ISO**** & ISO *****.
