Shutdown Crane Operators – Bowen Basin (QLD)
12 Hour Shifts | FIFO/DIDO Options | Short & Long Term Shutdowns
Volley Recruit is currently seeking experienced Crane Operators (C6 or higher) for upcoming shutdown projects across the Bowen Basin in Queensland.

What You'll Be Doing
Shutdown work across coal mining and industrial sites, including:
* Operating cranes safely and efficiently across shutdown scopes
* Working closely with riggers and doggers on critical lifts
* Supporting maintenance, shutdown and project-based lifting activities
* Conducting pre-starts, inspections and equipment checks
* Assisting crews during high-risk and critical-path tasks
Every shutdown is different – expect variety, strong teams, and consistent hours.
What You Need
* Working rights in Australia
* High Risk Work Licence – C6 or higher (C1, C0 highly regarded)
* White Card
* Proven experience operating cranes in mining or heavy industrial environments
* Strong safety mindset and ability to follow site procedures
* Reliable, switched-on and able to work within shutdown crews
* Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol screening
Mandatory Requirements (Bowen Basin Sites)
* Coal Board Medical (or willing to obtain through Volley Recruit)
* Standard 11 (or willing to obtain through Volley Recruit)
* Completion of:
o Skills & Experience Checklist
o Health & Safety Survey
o Pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Test
Highly Regarded
* Previous experience in coal mining environments (Bowen Basin preferred)
* VOC's and site-based competencies
* Working at Heights (if applicable to scope)
* Experience in shutdowns or maintenance crews
