As the Chief Engineer, you will oversee all engineering operations across the hotel's interior and exterior facilities, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, structural elements, and landscaping.
* Lead the Engineering Team in day-to-day operations, including service standards, equipment schedules, safety protocols, and work schedules.
* Implement and maintain our preventative maintenance program to ensure all equipment and facilities are in good working order.
* Monitor and coordinate services performed by outside contractors according to contracts and service agreements.
* Collaborate with departments like Housekeeping and Front Office to ensure seamless operations and timely responses to service requests.
* Plan and implement an effective preventive maintenance program according to manufacturer recommendations and government legislation.
* Develop energy management programs by analysing and modifying operations and plant/equipment to conserve energy and introduce sustainable systems.
* Ensure the hotel complies with local codes and regulations related to safety and environmental standards.
* Conduct regular inspections of buildings and facilities to ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety, Fire or any other pertinent legislation.
* Manage the maintenance budget and track expenses to identify cost-saving measures.
* Coordinate renovation bidding, define project scope and cost, and oversee contractors to ensure quality work is performed effectively.
* Be prepared to respond to emergencies such as equipment failures or natural disasters.
* Prioritise sustainability with a proactive strategy to reduce the hotel's impact on the environment and increase community support.
