One of our federal Government clients is seeking to engage a Lead Application Specialist/Application (Low-Code) Architect / Outsystems Lead for Sydney and Melbourne locations. Candidate must have Australian Citizenship. Extension term: 12 months. Location of work: NSW, VIC. Working arrangements: Hybrid.
Job Details
The Application Architects design, implement and evolve the application environment in the organisation. They pay close attention to how applications interact with each other to form a service and aim to improve the way applications support the business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Play an instrument role in designing and developing complex, responsive web applications on ASIC's digital platforms.
* Support architecture designs by contributing to design decisions, evaluating technology options and ensuring alignment with architecture principles and roadmap.
* Work with cross‑functional teams, including Product Owners, UX/UI designers and Business Analysts, to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
* Conduct feasibility studies and develop prototypes to validate proposed solutions.
* Review API mapping to connect enterprise systems, third‑party platforms and digital applications.
* Work closely with developers to ensure solution designs are understood and implemented.
* Provide technical direction and development support, including code reviews, troubleshooting and hands‑on problem solving.
* Provide technical assistance during testing phases, ensuring functional and non‑functional requirements are met.
* Contribute to continuous improvements to applications, environments, and processes.
* Provide advice, coaching and knowledge transfer to junior staff as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Extensive experience in low‑code development (Outsystems preferred) for web and mobile applications, including integration with enterprise applications.
* Proven experience in technical leadership, mentoring and team management.
* Strong experience in detailed design and API mapping for digital applications.
* Understanding of human‑centered design principles and experience applying them in web development.
* Proficient in REST APIs, knowledge of API Gateway and API management.
* Proficient in Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes and pipeline management.
* Experience working in Agile, DevOps and cross‑functional teams.
* Experience designing scalable and high‑availability solutions.
* Experience with enterprise CMS platforms.
* Knowledge of responsive design principles and web accessibility standards.
* Experience conducting code reviews and ensuring code quality.
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and people skills, with the ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and clearly communicate technical details to business.
