The Health Information Support Officer (HISO) at Bendigo Health is responsible for providing essential administrative services for health records and information across the organization. This role ensures the accurate and timely delivery of patient information to wards, emergency departments, specialist clinics, and external agencies to facilitate continuity of patient care. A key component of the role involves interacting with internal and external customers through various channels, including phone, fax, email, and face-to-face communication. The HISO is also tasked with converting paper-based medical records into digital formats, including tasks such as preparation, scanning, validation, and auditing to ensure the quality and accuracy of the electronic records. This position operates within the Health Information Services department, which functions 24/7, requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as per the roster..
