About the Role
Role: Big Query Senior Data Architect
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Architect to lead data architecture and strategy for a large-scale cloud-based data ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and implementing enterprise data platform architectures, particularly in the multi-cloud environments using Google Big Query, AWS data platforms, and other modern cloud-native data technologies to support high-impact transformation programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, design, and evolve the enterprise data architecture aligned with business goals and AI & Cloud-first strategies.
- Lead the architecture of data platforms leveraging Google Big Query, Data Flow, AWS Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, and related cloud-native services.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate strategic goals into actionable data architecture and solutions.
- Establish standards for data architecture, data governance, data quality, lineage, security, and metadata management.
- Work closely with data engineering, analytics, and product teams to ensure cohesive architecture design and implementation.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and frameworks to support the data ecosystem.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and developers.
- Act as a key contributor to the data modernization and AI transformation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in data architecture- data fabric / mesh frameworks, data engineering, or related roles within large enterprises.
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data architectures in cloud environments, especially Google Cloud (Big Query) and AWS.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data architecture patterns, data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and data lake/data warehouse architectures.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Terraform/Cloud Formation (for infrastructure as code), and CI/CD pipelines for data.
- Expertise in data governance, data quality, data security, data privacy, and compliance (e.g., GDPR)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across business and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification(s) in Google Data Cloud Platform or AWS Data, AI/ML
- Experience with real-time data processing frameworks- Spark
- Familiarity with tools like Google Cloud, Big Query, AWS Redshift, dbt, Looker, Vertex AI
- Previous experience working in Media and Consumer industries or large transformation programs.
