About the role

We're looking for an experienced and people‐focused Facilities Lead to oversee the day‐to‐day operation, maintenance and improvement of Council's diverse property portfolio. In this role, you'll make sure our buildings and community spaces are safe, well‐maintained and delivering the best possible experience for staff, residents and visitors.

You'll lead a dedicated Facilities Management team, coordinate planned and reactive maintenance and work closely with contractors, service providers and internal teams to deliver high‐quality outcomes. From aquatics and electrical systems to cleaning, security, pest control and asset compliance, you'll play a key part in ensuring our facilities operate smoothly and efficiently.

This is a hands‐on leadership role where you'll support your team, strengthen relationships with stakeholders, keep our compliance requirements on track, manage contracts, and guide smart, data‐informed decisions about maintenance and service levels. You'll also contribute to business planning, budgeting and continuous improvement activities that help us deliver better value for the community.

Remuneration

$117,368.68 - $140,752.56 + 12% Superannuation + Access to Motor Vehicle Lease Back

Required skills, experience and qualifications

* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Facilities Management, engineering or significant experience in building management at a management level with extensive knowledge and experience managing a diverse portfolio of properties.
* Demonstrated capacity to manage staff and contractors to undertake building operations and maintenance and the ability to develop sound, practical/workable and innovative solutions to resolve problems or activate a business plan.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team and its functions to achieve outcomes that address current challenges for the IWC and its commitments to the community.
* Ability to establish and maintain respectful and professional interactions with members of staff and of a diverse community and provide advice/services, problem solve and handle arrange of issues including difficult or challenging customers.
