This is a leadership role responsible for the conceptual and detailed process design of major desalination and water treatment projects. The successful candidate will oversee advanced process modelling and simulation activities, including membrane system optimisation and integration of emerging technologies.
They will provide high-level technical direction and review of engineering deliverables, procurement specifications, and design documentation. Additionally, they will champion value engineering initiatives to enhance project efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and long-term operability.
Job Responsibilities:
* Lead the development and implementation of project documentation, including management plans, commissioning strategies, performance testing protocols, and O&M manuals.
* Ensure seamless coordination between engineering, procurement, and construction teams to maintain design integrity and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
* Direct technical negotiations and clarifications with clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
* Manage resolution of critical project issues through strategic analysis and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
* Oversee vendor engagement, equipment selection, and procurement processes to ensure alignment with project specifications and operational goals.
Requirements:
* Degree in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
* Extensive experience (5+ years) in senior technical roles within water infrastructure, with a focus on process engineering and project leadership.
* Demonstrated success in leading large-scale desalination or water treatment projects from design through commissioning.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
* Valid Australian driver's license; willingness to travel interstate and internationally.
* Spanish language proficiency is advantageous.
