Support Worker – Supported Independent Living (Accommodation)

Positions Available
We have both casual and part‑time positions available in Lithgow within our Individual Support Division and SIL Group Homes. Our services support individuals living with a disability in their own homes or in the community to live as independently as possible. These supports may include personal care, health and hygiene assistance, home care and cleaning, community access (such as shopping or attending appointments), and working alongside participants to build independence, skills, and capacity.
The level of care for our clients varies, meaning no two days are the same – giving you the chance to gain a broad range of experience and skills. We'll support you along your career journey and give you opportunities to develop into the best carer you can be.
Key Responsibilities
* Working varies shifts, including early mornings, afternoons, active nights, and weekends.
* Assisting participants with personal care, health, feeding, and hygiene as required (including showering, bowel care, and catheter management).
* Supporting participants to work towards achieving their personal goals and aspirations.
* Assisting participants with daily tasks such as meals, cleaning, and participation in community or internal activities and programs.
* Working collaboratively with other Disability Support Workers as part of a team.
* Communicating with families, guardians, and advocates as required to discuss participants' progress and wellbeing.
* Undertaking manual handling of participants as required, including safe use of hoists, lifters, and slide sheets.
Ideal Candidate
* Communication: You are a team player that has strong communication skills. Knowledge of AUSLAN is highly regarded.
* Experience: Prior experience as a Disability Support Worker in a high‑intensity setting is a plus. Nursing experience or a medical background will be highly regarded.
* Positive Attitude: Above all, a positive attitude is what's needed to assist in making a difference in the lives of our participants.

Rotating Roster and Availability
This role requires you to work a rotating roster including nights and weekends as our care requirements are 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. By applying for this position you are confirming you are available to work 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
