Are you an experienced peri operative nurse seeking a temporary change to your current role? Peninsula Private Hospital is looking for a suitably qualified nurse with previous clinical nurse and leadership experience to join our busy peri operative team for a 6 month Team Leader role. The successful candidate will be working closely with the Peri Operative Service Manager in order to review and provide effective service delivery to our growing Peri Operative Department. The role will additionally require the successful candidate to work effectively and collaboratively with the Peri Operative Leadership Team and broader Hospital Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
* Lead and provide guidance to ensure an excellent standard of evidence based and person centred nursing care is provided throughout the department.
* Provide professional nursing leadership by ensuring all staff practice according to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics and conduct, legislative requirements, Healthscope's polices and processes, required registration, scope of practice and patient confidentiality and privacy.
* Lead staff in the prioritisation of Healthscope's patient safety and quality by identifying areas of improvement and/or enhancements of services, monitoring and investigating incidents, coordinating and driving clinical audits, initiating quality improvement projects, and participating in National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards, risk committees/meetings and clinical presentations.
* Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners by using a customer service mindset, timely and effective communication and responding to/escalating concerns raised by VMOs to enable high quality patient outcomes.
* Demonstrate and lead nursing staff to participate in delivering operational efficiencies. Guide, support and direct staff to implement the OneHealthscope culture by adopting the OneHealthscope approach to processes, practices and systems within the unit.

Peninsula Private is currently a 54 bed acute and rehabilitation hospital with 4 brand new, state of the art operating theatres located on the idyllic Redcliffe Peninsula. There is a further refurbishment underway for a further 2 procedure rooms and purpose built reception and discharge area. Specialties at Peninsula Private include orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and internal medicine and the delivery of leading rehabilitation services and programs on the Brisbane northside.
Selection Criteria
* Current Registration with AHPRA
* Minimum of 5 years nursing experience
* Previous Clinical Nurse experience in leadership role
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
* Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a diverse leadership team
