Job Description
The position is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef / Sous Chef with operation of the kitchen; ensuring that food standards, preparation, ordering, presentation and cooking techniques are carried out according to established recipes and standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Supervision of kitchen in the absence of the Executive and Sous Chefs.
2. Assist Executive Chef with menu preparation and ensuring adequate supplies are available for expected service.
3. Liaise with Restaurant team members regarding the availability of menu items, additions to the menu and any relevant changes.
4. Maintain excellent presentation standards and cost control for all food and beverage outlets with a focus on minimizing wastage.
5. Keep all working areas clean and tidy.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate is:
1. Trade qualified with experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
2. Sound knowledge of food safety requirements in Australia.
3. Strong product knowledge with a passion for presentation.
4. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Service oriented with an eye for detail.
6. Flexibility to work a rotating roster including mornings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
Additional Information
The salary for this full-time role is $73,210 plus superannuation.
