Our company is looking for a Junior Legal Officer to assist the managing director. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is currently studying or graduating from legal studies. Although we are not a legal firm, however this role allows junior law students to practice and exercise and defend for the legal rights of both tenants and owners.
The main areas of work are:
- Arrears management
- sending reminders, notices and serving termination letters
- Attending residential tenancy tribunal
- Attending to insurance claims
- Lodgement and refunds of residential and commercial bonds held by Fair Trading
- Manage residential tenancy legal rights of owners and tenants including repairs co-ordination, distinguishing what is owners obligation, strata obligations, builder obligations and tenant obligations
The main area of work will be managing and balancing the rights and obligations of tenants and landlords by understanding the Residential Tenancy Act NSW 2010, Strata By Laws, Residential Tenancy Regulation and Fair Trading’s prescribed procedures. You will be working closely and reporting to the managing director. The role is designed for someone who is confident, have solid communication and negotiation skills. Able to work independently and under pressure. This is a learning role, you must be willing to learn and practice your skills.
