About the role
We are seeking an energetic credit professional to join the national credit team. Reporting to the State Credit Manager, you will work with the wider credit and accounts receivable team to support the branch network. You will monitor and collect receivables for your allocated customer accounts in line with policies to maximise collections while maintaining customer goodwill.
A bit about your role
- Monitor and collect trade receivables for allocated customer accounts using available tools, including credit bureau data to prioritise collections.
- Participate in credit risk activities with automation for new customer onboarding, limit reviews and dunning strategy for nominated accounts. Verify changes within your delegation and refer accounts above your delegation to the State Credit Manager.
- Liaise with the branch network and customer relation managers.
- Communicate with customers regarding their accounts, document disputes for resolution by the branch network, and ensure customers have what they need for on-time payment.
- Maintain a record of communications with customers within the Oracle Collections module.
- Review Credit Referral queues to assess order status for accounts flagged to refer.
- Reconcile accounts for payment allocation, including matching payments/credits to outstanding invoices.
- All Credit Team members are required to be logged into the call centre to share incoming calls from customers and the branch network; calls are evenly shared throughout the day.
A bit about you
- Professional telephone manner with good interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of Oracle or a similar ERP.
- Experience using credit bureau data (e.g., Equifax, illion) to prioritise collection strategy would be advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to resolve commercial matters influencing payment of accounts.
- Experience in a fast-paced credit environment and providing excellent customer service.
