About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and prioritizing patient care using the Australasian Triage Scale (ATS), ensuring timely and appropriate treatment while maintaining smooth patient flow in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Receiving and triaging all ED arrivals using ATS 1-5
* Performing rapid assessments and allocating triage categories
* Monitoring and reassessing patients in the waiting area
* Documenting accurate triage records
* Escalating clinical concerns to senior staff
* Communicating with ambulance, ED, inpatient, and community teams
* Contributing to quality improvement, audits, and safety compliance
Requirements
* AHPRA RN registration
* 2-3 years recent ED or high-acuity experience
* Competence in ATS triage
* Strong assessment and clinical escalation skills
* Proficiency with IEMR system
* CPR/BLS and mandatory competencies
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
