Role Overview
As a Spray Drone Pilot, you will operate advanced agricultural drones (including heavy-lift platforms) to perform precision applications across varied landscapes. You will be responsible for end-to-end mission success, from pre-flight mapping to post-flight data reporting. This role is perfect for a tech-savvy individual with a passion for the future of ag-tech and rural communities.
Key Responsibilities
* Mission Execution: Operate heavy-lift spray/spread drones across diverse agricultural and environmental sites.
* Site Management: Conduct site assessments, map flight paths using GIS/GPS tools, and strictly maintain safety protocols.
* Operational Excellence: Monitor payload efficiency, swath coverage, and real-time environmental conditions.
* Technical Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on drones (specifically XAG or DJI platforms), smart batteries, and cooling systems.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Work directly with landowners and agronomists to ensure application accuracy.
* Data Reporting: Log spray activities and provide insights for continuous process improvement.
Qualifications & Skills
* Remote Pilot Licence (RePL): Essential.
* Agricultural Experience: Practical experience with XAG P-Series or DJI Agras (T40/T50) platforms is highly regarded.
* Chemical Credentials: Current Chemical Handling Certificate (AQF3) or the immediate ability to acquire one.
* Technical Aptitude: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot hardware/software in the field.
* Physical Fitness: Capability to handle outdoor rural fieldwork and move equipment as required.
* Professionalism: Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety, ethics, and land stewardship.
