We are seeking a Cadet Civil Designer with no prior experience who is interested in building a long-term career toward Civil Design or Project Management. This role is fully supported, offering 12 months of structured work experience followed by a paid, part-time university degree undertaken alongside full-time employment. This position will be based out of our Buderim office on the Sunshine Coast.

The Role

We are looking for a Full-Time Cadet Civil Designer who will be based in our Sunshine Coast office working 40 hours a week.

This entry-level role is designed for a motivated, self-driven individual looking to learn from the ground up. You will be supported through:

* 12 months of structured, on-the-job work experience
* Followed by a paid, part-time university degree, undertaken alongside full-time employment

You will work closely with experienced engineers, designers, and project managers, gaining practical exposure across a range of projects.

This position is open to anyone - from new school leavers to someone looking for a career change

Key Responsibilities:

* Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
* Assist senior engineers and designers with the preparation of civil design drawings and documentation
* Learn and use civil design software (e.g. AutoCAD) under supervision
* Support project teams with data entry, calculations, and basic design tasks
* Assist with quantity take-offs, schedules, and simple reports
* Help maintain accurate project records, drawings, and files
* Participate in site visits to gain practical understanding of construction and design outcomes
* Follow company procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
* Actively engage in on-the-job training, mentoring, and professional development

Qualifications and Experience:

Mandatory:

* Proficiency in MS Office Suite and computer/phone literacy.
* Australian Driver's licence with no restrictions or recent disqualifications.
* A proactive, can-do individual who thrives on taking initiative and getting things done.

Desirable:

* Strong interest in Civil Engineering, infrastructure or construction
* The ability to travel to site when required
* An interest in working on projects with roads, earthworks, retaining, and drainage structures.
* A commitment to completing part-time university study while working full-time
