Leadership Opportunity: Consulting Director
The role of a Consulting Director is pivotal in shaping the organization's consulting function. Reporting to the Vice President of Staffing, this position oversees the design, development, and implementation of local staffing & professional development programs for Senior Managers & Associate Partners.
The Consulting Director provides overall leadership of the Program Management (PM) function, ensuring a highly effective and cohesive PM team delivers on priorities. This involves optimizing resource utilization, associated costs, and revenue management. The Director also leads and drives continuous improvement and implementation of staffing, talent management, and professional development practices.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Office Head in optimizing commercial outcomes, tracking, reporting, and strategizing on appropriate staffing and investment trade-offs.
* Optimize resource utilization and associated cost and revenue management.
* Work with other program managers to staff balanced, high-performing teams across the Australian cluster, optimizing client service, utilization, professional development, and retention.
* Coordinate with regional and global staffing teams to manage and support client and IP demands, sharing best practices.
* Manage the talent pipeline through internal transfers, onboarding, retention, leave of absences, flexible working options, and performance management strategies.
* Oversee directly staffing, professional development for General Consulting Senior Managers and Associate Partners (SMAPs).
* Act as the first point of contact for Partners and SMAPS on staffing and professional development topics.
* Develop, lead, and evolve the performance management team and broader Human Capital team as a senior leader.
* Communicate and engage stakeholders on staffing and professional development strategies, policies, and activities.
* Drive the performance review and promotion process for consulting staff.
* Liaise with ECD leaders and program managers to ensure coordinated staffing of integrated teams.
About You:
* A minimum of 5 years' experience within professional services, preferably in blue-chip Management Consulting.
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in managing teams.
* Inspirational and confident leadership, people management, and development skills, operating with a wide range of people from highly senior leadership to day-to-day teams at levels.
* Experience of staffing and utilization management and leading a program management function.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills both as an independent contributor and in directing teams.
* Excellent communication skills and strong influencer in the business.
* Strong change design, implementation leadership, and management skills to evolve operations.
* Sound judgement and objectivity.
