AIR6500 is one of the most significant Defence programs in Australia, delivering a cutting-edge Joint Air Battle Management System (JABMS). This system will interconnect platforms, sensors, and effectors across land, air, sea, space, and cyber — creating a truly integrated battlespace.
As a Software Engineer for Defence Systems, you'll play a pivotal role in making this vision a reality. Working within a highly skilled team, you'll help design, build, and integrate complex solutions that will form the backbone of Australia's multi-domain defence capability.
You will:
* Collaborate with engineers across the AIR6500 program to design, test, and integrate sophisticated systems.
* Contribute to the automation of testing and continuous integration pipelines.
* Analyse and resolve system-level defects to keep integration environments mission-ready.
* Work hands-on with cutting-edge technologies: CI/CD, virtualisation, containerisation, infrastructure-as-code, and automation tools.
About You
We're seeking an engineer with strong Defence Test & Evaluation knowledge and hands-on integration experience across ICT, software, and hardware. You'll bring Linux administration and scripting skills, CI/CD pipeline experience, and a problem-solving mindset to tackle complex system challenges.
A minimum of 3-5 years of Defence Test & Evaluation experience is required.
A minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on integration experience across ICT, software, and hardware is required.
Intermediate level Linux administration skills are required.
