Job Overview
The Infrastructure Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering infrastructure that meets technical, cost, and schedule goals. This involves setting requirements for new shipyards to build and commission naval vessels.
Main Responsibilities
1. Establish mechanical engineering design, construction, and operational standards providing technical and functional leadership.
2. Arrange certification reviews with Chief Engineers.
3. Develop and maintain technical specifications, procedures, and guidelines.
4. Review and approve mechanical engineering drawings, calculations, and models.
5. Verify project designs and construction adhere to established standards.
6. Conduct regular design and engineering reviews to assess adherence to best practices.
7. Provide technical support for resolving non-conformance issues.
8. Act as the go-to expert for complex engineering challenges.
9. Offer technical guidance during design, construction, and commissioning.
10. Support decision-making processes by offering expertise on mechanical engineering methodologies.
11. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
12. Collaborate with project managers, designers, and contractors to ensure the project's technical integrity.
About You
* Significant demonstrable mechanical engineering experience, ideally in building infrastructure or mechanical services including craneage.
* Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline.
* Eligibility for accreditation as a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Australia.
* Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
* Defence Security clearance or eligibility to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance & ITAR clearance required.
